Yeah ! I went through the website ! Very appropriate description of Rama Rao sir ! But it did give information about him which was not known during our college days ! I knew about his Flute playing talent as I got some flutes from Calcutta , as per details he had given me ! Prof Sinhval had told me about his passion for Hindi poetry &his fascination for Dinkar ! The fact that he picked up proficiency in French to teach Metallurgy at a late age is a big achievement!
My association with him was from 1970 to 1973 ! When I was a student in VRCE metallurgy dept ! He was also my Final year Project guide , along with 3 other batch mates ! As mentioned, I was the Sr Prefect of Block 6 while he was the warden of that hostel !
Since he taught with a passion , the very difficult subjects were very easy to understand! Besides , he was a Student friendly teacher with a high emotional quotient ( EQ) & an easy access ! No one could raise any finger against him for any reason ! He was honest, Frank , fearless & did full justice as a teacher !!! He will be cherished in my memory for ever ! I feel fortunate to have been a student under him ! Only regret was that some how I could not get any opportunity to go to Nagpur or meet him after passing out in 1973 !!
