Story from Mr. Shyam C. Asnani

Dr A V. Ramarao was my teacher, mentor and guide for 3 years from 1971 to 1974 in VRCE – Nagpur. The unique quality about him was that despite being a disciplinarian, he was easily accessible to students. His knowledge about the subject was unmatched and he practiced an interactive approach, resulting in greater involvement of students in his subjects. Despite coming from the south of India, his knowledge of Hindi was immaculate.

The regret is that I lost contact with him for almost 45 years, before getting an opportunity to get his blessings in Dec ’19, when I met him in Bangalore, where he is staying with his son, Dinkar. I have have mailed a photograph of Metallurgical batch of 1974, in which Sir is seen prominently. I want to put on record that I was very fortunate that TRIMURTI of VRCE – Metallurgical Department i.e. Dr. Ramarao, Dr. Tupkary and Dr. Khangaonkar were my teachers & mentors.

Thank you Sir.
